Where an Exness Login Stays Open
Signing in happens once; staying signed in happens in several places at the same time. A browser tab, the Exness Trade app and a MetaTrader terminal each keep their own session, and each one closes on different terms.
Open Exness Account →An Exness login can stay open in three places at once: the Personal Area in a browser, the Exness Trade app on a phone, and a MetaTrader terminal connected with a trading account’s own credentials. Signing out of one of them does not sign out the others. Ending a session properly means using the sign-out inside the client area, signing out of the app, and removing saved accounts from a terminal on any device that is not personal.
Closing every open session
Signing out is not one action but several, because a login is held open in more than one place at a time. Each place has its own way of ending it:
- In the browser: use the sign-out button inside the Personal Area, not only the close button of the tab.
- In the Exness Trade app on a phone that is shared or about to change hands: sign out inside the app.
- In MetaTrader 4 or 5 on a shared computer: remove the saved account from the terminal’s list, so that it does not reconnect on the next start.
- After any session that was not ended properly: change the Personal Area password, and set new trading passwords from the client area.
Shared and borrowed devices
A computer in an office, a cyber café or a relative’s laptop is where an open session costs the most, because the next person sits down in front of it. On such a device the browser should not be allowed to save the Personal Area password, the trading terminal should not keep a saved trading password, and the visit should end with a sign-out rather than with a closed window.
A closed tab is not a sign-out. Depending on the browser, the session can still be there when the same browser is opened again. The sign-out button inside the client area is the step that ends it on the account’s side.
Three places a session can outlive the visit
The client area in a browser keeps its session for as long as the browser allows; a tab that was only closed may still be signed in when it is opened again. The Exness Trade app usually stays signed in, so that a phone does not ask for the password every time it is unlocked. A MetaTrader terminal keeps a list of the trading accounts it has connected to, and if the password was saved, it reconnects on its own at the next start.
Each of these is convenient on a personal device and a risk on a shared one. The difference between the two situations is not the sign-in but what is left behind after it.
Signing out of one does not sign out the others
The Personal Area and the trading terminal use different credentials. The client area opens with the registered email and the Personal Area password; MetaTrader 4 and 5 connect with a trading account number, its own trading password and its server. Because the two doors use different keys, closing one leaves the other exactly as it was.
In practice this means a sign-out from the client area in a browser does not disconnect a terminal running on the same computer, and closing the terminal does not end the browser session. Both have to be closed where they were opened.
The saved-password box in the terminal
The MetaTrader login window offers to save the trading password. On a personal computer that is a convenience; on a shared one it turns the terminal into an open door, because the account reconnects automatically for whoever starts the program next.
Removing the account from the terminal’s list, or at least clearing the saved password, is the step that closes it. The trading password itself is never shown in the client area; if there is any doubt about where it has been saved, a new one can be set from the client area and the old one stops working.
When a session was not ended properly
Sometimes the only thing known is that a session was left open somewhere: a phone that was lost, a laptop that was lent, a café computer that was walked away from. The order of repair follows the order of the doors. The Personal Area password comes first, because the client area is where every other credential can be changed.
Trading passwords come next, one per account, set from the client area. If something looks changed that was not changed by the account holder, Exness support is reached through the channels listed in the client area and on the official website; a message asking for a password or a code through a messenger is not support, whatever name it uses.
Short answers about open sessions
Does closing the browser sign out of the Exness login? Not necessarily. Depending on the browser, the session can survive a closed tab; the sign-out button inside the client area is the step that ends it.
Does signing out of the client area disconnect MetaTrader? No. The terminal is connected with the trading account’s own credentials and stays connected until it is closed or the account is removed from it.
Is it safe to save the trading password in the terminal? On a personal device it is a convenience. On a shared or borrowed computer it lets the account reconnect for the next user.
What should be changed first after a lost phone? The Personal Area password, because every other credential can be reset from the client area once it is secure.
Does a new Personal Area password change the trading passwords? No. They are separate and are set separately, account by account.
Ending a session properly, place by place
- Browser: sign out from inside the Personal Area, then close the tab.
- Exness Trade app: sign out inside the app on any phone that is shared, repaired or passed on.
- MetaTrader 4 or 5: clear the saved trading password, or remove the account from the terminal’s list, on any computer that is not personal.
- Web terminal opened from the client area: close it together with the client area session.
- If a session may have been left open: change the Personal Area password first, then set new trading passwords from the client area.
Trading involves risk. Closing a session does not close open positions; positions stay as they are until they are closed in a trading platform.
Where an Exness login stays open, and what ends it
| Place | What keeps it open | What ends it |
|---|---|---|
| Personal Area in a browser | The browser’s session | The sign-out button inside the client area |
| Exness Trade app | The app usually stays signed in | Signing out inside the app |
| MetaTrader 4 or 5 terminal | A saved trading password and the account list | Removing the account or clearing the saved password |
| Web terminal opened from the client area | The browser it runs in | Closing it, together with a sign-out from the client area |
| Shared or borrowed computer | Whatever was saved during the visit | No saved passwords, and a sign-out at the end |
